Summer gradient with stamping

Hello lovelies!

Ugh I've been so bad at posting recently. I've been sooooo tired after being so busy I just haven't had the energy. Plus I hate taking photos when it's drizzly and grey outside. I like seeing my manis in the sunshine!

Anyway! I did this pretty gradient using China Glaze - Sunshine Pop, China Glaze - Lighthouse, Cult Nails - Seduction and Essie - Bossa Nova. I loveeeeddd the way this gradient turned out. It all went balls up when I stamped on it though. This image was from the DRK B plate which unfortunately doesn't seem to work for me. I think the images are too deep or something. Which is a bummer. If you step back from the computer and view this from afar it looks okay, but once you see it close up you realise how rubbish and smudged the design went. Wahhh. So this is a partial fail. Boo.

I still liked it though! :)

I'm getting better at gradients. I may try another one soon!

Also - there are about 8 hours left to enter my Giveaway! I'm so excited about this! I can't wait to see who wins! EEP!

What do you think? Have you ever ruined a really good base mani with rubbish stamping?

Thanks for looking.

  1. I have ruined several bases with crappy stamping. In fact the mani I have on right now has been attempted four times! I'm glad I finally got it right because I was about to freak out. Your gradient is lovely. :-) keep on posting them.

  2. I am still clueless on how people stamp so well!!! I have no clue, and I ruin my mani every single time I attempt to stamp. Any advice, tips, clues you can give on how to do one well?! I actually didn't notice the smudging too much till I read; I look before I read, what can I say? I still think this looks cute.

    1. I was totally crap at stamping when I first started. Mostly I'm okay at it, it's just this plate I think. My main tip would be to only use a little bit of polish along the top of the image, and I always use either foil polishes or the special stamping polishes cos I find all other polishes are too thin and smear everywhere. Thanks so much for your lovely comment x
