We Stamp on Sundays Glittery Pink Leopard!

Happy Sunday! This is my first ever entry for the 'We Stamp on Sundays' Adventures in Stamping Challenge. The theme this week was a plate ending in 7. I only have two plates ending in 7; M57 and another which I don't really like because it's just tips and I can't really get the hang of tip stamping (just yet). So I used he leopard print from m57 which I LOOOOVEEEE!!!

Blurry pic to show all the GLITTER!

For these I used:
HITS - Florzinha
a-england - Galahad
Nail Pop - Sequin effect
China Glase - Techno
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Black

I love the colour of Florzinha but I have to tell you, I am SO disappointed in the HITS powerpuff girls polishes. I don't own any other HITS polishes. I bought Flozinha and Lindinha to test out and whilst the colours are so beautiful - florzinha is a beautiful pink with really fine pink shimmer - but the brush .. total pants. It's all over the place and feels like it's made of fishing line or something and the application is so difficult because a. the brush is not precise and b. the formula is a bit rubbish as well - all goopy and draggy. Yuck. These polishes cost $8 - that's about £6.50 so they certainly aren't cheap. They cost more than a China Glaze or a Barry M. I don't really expect a brush to be so rubbish for the amount of money. I really like the other colours but I won't be buying them. Whine/whinge/moan. Has anyone else had this problem with them?

I don't want to finish on a grump so I'm going to tell you about how much I love a-england Galahad! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! And it applies like a dream. Similarly, Techno, the glitter from the electropop collection is AH-MAZING. I wasn't that into it when I first saw it. I was like.. meh, it's a glitter. But it's not just a glitter OH NO! It's got great bit and teeny tiny holographic particles and it applies awesomely. Love love love.

Anyway! Sorry for the moan! I hope you like my glitter leopards. I wish glitter leopards were real!

Spotty, purple and stripy!

Hello lovelies :)

So after my big fat nail fail I had to do something else otherwise my nails would have been NAKED! So I did this:

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - White On White
a-england - Lady of the Lake
a-england - Camelot
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
Seche Vite

I also used some green striping tape across the middle. They're a bit wonky but I kind of love them!

a-england Lady of the Lake has the most amazing shimmer. I love it so much. I'm going to use it as a full mani next I think. I ordered Dragon and Order of the Garter from the Legends collection and then saw some swatches of St. George and had to order that too! Whoops! :) I can't wait until they arrive!

What do you think?

Owl and the Pussycat. Nail Fail :(

Happy Saturday!

So I really wanted to do Owl and the Pussycat nails but these ended up being a bit rubbish and I took them off as soon as I had taken pictures of them. I am a bit disappointed in myself. You know when you have something really cool in your head and it just doesn't work out like you planned? This was one of those times. I used loads of different polishes for this so I won't list them all but I will mention Cult Nails - Let Me Fly  which I used for the owl because it's AMAZING! It's more green than I thought it would be but that's okay. You can never have too much green.

I quite like the boat and the owl but LOOK at my terrible bunting attempt and my stupid cat. Boo. Rubbish. I've been a bit poorly the last few days and my hands are a bit shaky so that's my excuse.

Anyway, we have a BABYSITTER tonight so we're going out to stuff our faces with Chinese food. HURRAH!

Have you had any nail fails recently?

My Kind of Kool-Aid and Charming Nails Stamping

Hello there fellow polish lovers :)

I got my first Cult Nails polishes today! AHHH they're AMAZING. I got My Kind of Kool Aid and Let Me Fly. I don't even know what Kool-Aid is but if it's this kind of colour then I like it :) The subtle purple shimmer is gorgeous and the application was amazing. This is definitely a 'stare at your nails all day' kind of colour.

I stamped over these with Konad Chanrming Nails Plate Q1 which I LOVE! Not such an interesting mani but it's all I have time for with my dissertation and everything. I'll do some nail art soon, I promise!

Evening friends!

I am REALLY happy today because I found out today that I've been accepted onto the postgrad course that I really wanted and didn't think I'd get! So I'm super DUPER chuffed!

So to celebrate I bought myself the other half of the China Glaze electropop collection. I've used some of the polishes from the first half for this mani.

CREATURES!!!

I like the pink kitties best, I think... or the purple bunnies.... or the white sheep... Ooh I can't decide! I love them all! I used Konad S10 stamping plate. I felt bad that I didn't use the cow though. Sorry cow! I only have five fingers!

For these I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - Dance Baby
Models Own - Lemon Meringue Pie
China Glaze - Sweet Hook
China Glaze - White On White
China Glaze - Kinetic Candy
E.L.F - Twinkle
Konad Special Stamping Polish Black

Glitter Gal Holo and stamping!

Hello!

So I have two versions of the same mani to show you today. I ordered Glitter Gal - Red Holo and Glitter Gal - Silver Holo from Llarowe and I was so excited when they arrived that I couldn't just wear one. I was like... MUST WEAR BOTH! RIGHT NOW! AIMEE SMASH! ... It was awful. Anyway... so I ended up with a mani that looked like two really pretty manis smushed together in a way that didn't work so well. I liked them separately, just not together. However, my boyfriend thought it was cute, so I thought I'd show you anyway. Okay!

Number 1:

ZOMMMGGGHOLLOOOOO. *melts*

It's so pretty!

BWUHRWNWEMN!

BUT - they don't look too good together right? So I redid them all with the red and the stamping.

Behold:

The letters are from my glow in the dark moon calendar! I thought my nails looked ace against the black!

Before Stamping to show amazing holo glory.

Much better right?

Sorry for all the pictures, I couldn't help myself. It's just so sparkly!!!

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
Glitter Gal - Red Holo (and Silver Holo for nails #1)
a-england - Excalibur (for the stamping)
Colour Club - Wild at Heart (for the hearts on nails #1)
Seche Vite
Bundle Monster BM 12.

The little rhinestones were from ebay for like... £2 or something. Bargain!
I officially love holos!!! Have you tried these?

Thanks for reading!

Neon Pink Leopard and OPI Ds Sapphire - oohhh!

Hello!

You might notice I've changed my blog around a bit. Do you like it? I've been wrestling with it for like.. TWO DAYS! Me and HTML do not get along, so I ended up having to use a template to stop my columns overlapping. Very annoying! Anyway - onto the nails!

For these I used:

Sally Hansen - No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - Purple Panic
Orly - Ancient Jade
OPI - DS Sapphire
A-england - Excalibur (for the stamping)
Seche Vite

Holo-deliciousness!

I tried out some swatches of DS Sapphire over some different blue/greens. From left to right - DS Sapphire on it's own (ooh), DS Sapphire over Orly Ancient Jade (ahhh), DS sapphire over Collection 2000 Hot Looks Blue Hawaii, DS Sapphire over Collection 2000 Hot Looks Show off and finally, DS Sapphire over Orly Lunar Eclipse (eeehhh). I went with Ancient Jade because it made it slightly green, but how amazing is it over EVERYTHING? You can just see a smidge of OPI Fresh Frog Of Bel Air in the picture. I can't wait to use that one!

Thanks for reading, I hope you're having a great day!

Mismatched Colourful nails and NAIL POP FLAKES!!!

Happy Sunday!

So today I  have some more mistmatched nails to show you. I was feeling a lot more colourful today so these are a bit of a riot, but that's how I roll :)

I got to use my new Essence - The Dawn is Broken which I have wanted for AGES and finally managed to get from Carli at Vintage Musings of a Modern Pinup's blog sale. I am SOOO happy I managed to get this. The only other place I could find it was on ebay and that was as part of the whole set. None of the other polishes in the set really appealed to me at all so I would have essentially been spending £30 ish on one polish! So thankyou Carli. You've made me super happy! I also got Zoya - Gloria, Nerd Laquer - Event Horizon, a Colour Club purple holo and some cute little frankens she sent me on top. The Event Horizon is especially cool and I can't wait to use it. I was most sold by the name, really. Event Horizon has to be the scariest film EVER MADE! Me and my band even have a song about it. I can't wait to try all of these polishes out and show you the results.

Sooo onto the nails!

Look how pretty the flakies look!!! YUM!
There's a big long list of polishes I used for these. I'll try and remember them all.

Sally Hansen No Chip Basecoat
Thumb:
China Glaze - Flying Dragon
Kleancolour Chunky Holo - Black
Konad Special Stamping Polish - White

First Finger:
Barry M - Matt White
Orly - GoGo
China Glaze - Purple Panic
China Glaze - Papaya Punch
Jessie - Electric Teal

Middle Finger:
China Glaze - For Audrey
Barry M - Matt White
China Glaze - Purple Panic

Ring Finger:
Essence - The Dawn Has Broken
Nail Pop - Sequin Effect

Little Finger:
China Glaze - Purple Panic
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Black

Phew!!! As you can see I smudged the stamping on my little finger a bit. I've been using China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat as my Seche has turned into a horrible, goopy mess. I tried using thinner and it didn't make a difference. I've got about a third of a bottle left, so I'm pretty annoyed about it. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have any suggestions about how to fix it? I've ordered a new bottle because my although I like the China Glaze top coat, it's just too thin and smudges stamping really badly.

Anyway! Sorry there's a lot of rambling in this post! Thanks for reading! :)

Aimee.
